Wooden Characters 

These carved characters are made from cedar wood offcuts which are painted with gouache, and dipped in yacht varnish for a glossy finish. They are inspired by the vivid personalities in Joseph Mitchell’s 'Up in the Old Hotel'. In 2024, they were part of the show 'Sculpture is for life not just for Christmas' at Pangolin Gallery.
